Global Citizen said on September 25, 2026, that it had canceled its New York festival because of the severe weather forecast. The organization reported that audience actions over the previous six weeks had secured $208.8 million in financial commitments, projected to affect more than 9.5 million people.

Those figures are commitments and projected reach, not a statement that all funds have been paid or that every projected outcome has already occurred. The same announcement described education commitments from Ireland and Canada and support connected to farmers and food security.

Large campaign totals are most useful when their status is clear. Readers can follow Global Citizen’s future reporting for payment, allocation and outcome updates, and distinguish a commitment from cash received or people served.
